Lessons are held in school during term time. Tuition fees are as follows: £9.00 for a 20 minute lesson or £13.00 for a 30 minute lesson
Please note however that all tuition fees are to be reviewed annually by the school.
I issue invoices by email prior to the start of each half term. Fees are due on or before the first lesson of the half term and are payable by cash or cheque to F.McKeown. Payment can also be made by direct bank transfer – please contact me for details. Timetables will be displayed on the music department notice board and also on my website at the start of each half term. (www.fiona.mckeown.co.uk)
Parents/pupils should advise me of absence from a lesson. This can be in person or by email but if absence is not known about until the day of the lesson then notification should be a phone call or text to me by 9.30am that morning. Any missed lessons due to informed absence will be ‘caught up’ at the end of each half term or if this not possible, a credit will be issued against the following half term’s fees. This will also apply if I am not available to teach. Pupils are responsible for noting their own lesson times, checking for any possible problems and excusing themselves from their subject lesson if appropriate. Pupils who fail to attend a lesson for any reason without prior notice will be charged for that lesson. Please note that a FULL HALF TERM’S notice is required for termination of tuition.
From time to time new music will be required; this extra expense is unlikely to amount to any more than £25 over the year. I usually purchase this on a pupil’s behalf and invoice for it accordingly at the beginning of the next half term. When appropriate I will encourage pupils to take either Associated Board or Trinity College music examinations, I will not enter pupils without the consent of a parent/guardian and will invoice for the required entry fee.
Whilst I will endeavour to ensure that pupils make satisfactory progress, it should be noted that careful, regular practice is a prerequisite of success on any musical instrument and pupils require a keyboard with full size keys or a piano (as appropriate) at home on which to practise.
